Aims and scope
The Journal of the Brazilian Computer Society (JBCS) is an international journal which serves as a forum for disseminating innovative research in all fields of computer science and related subjects. Contents include theoretical, practical and experimental papers reporting original research contributions, as well as high quality survey papers. Coverage extends to all computer science topics, computer systems development and formal and theoretical aspects of computing, including computer architecture; high-performance computing; database management and information retrieval; computational biology; computer graphics; data visualization; image and video processing; VLSI design and software-hardware codesign; embedded systems; geoinformatics; artificial intelligence; games, entertainment and virtual reality; natural language processing and much more.
It is the wish of the JBCS team that all quality articles will be published in the journal independent of the funding capacity of the authors. Thus, if the authors are unable to pay the APC charge, we recommend that they contact the editors (email@example.com). The JBCS team will provide support to find alternative ways of funding. In particular, a grant from the Brazilian Internet Steering Committee, (http://nic.br/) helps sponsoring the publication of many JBCS articles.

Journal of the Brazilian Computer Society operates a single-blind peer-review system, where the reviewers are aware of the names and affiliations of the authors, but the reviewer reports provided to authors are anonymous. Publication of research articles by Journal of the Brazilian Computer Society is dependent primarily on their scientific validity and coherence as judged by our external expert editors and/or peer reviewers, who will also assess whether the writing is comprehensible and whether the work represents a useful contribution to the field.
Submitted manuscripts will generally be reviewed by two to three experts who will be asked to evaluate whether the manuscript is scientifically sound and coherent, whether it duplicates already published work, and whether or not the manuscript is sufficiently clear for publication. Reviewers will also be asked to indicate how interesting and significant the research is. The Editors will reach a decision based on these reports and, where necessary, they will consult with members of the Editorial Board.
All manuscripts submitted to Journal of the Brazilian Computer Society should adhere to SpringerOpen's editorial policies.
Once your article is accepted, it will be processed by production and published shortly afterwards. In some cases, articles may be held for a short period of time prior to publication. If you have any concerns or particular requirements please contact the Journal.
